Poster shows Gotham engulfed in fire and ice

A stunning new fan poster for The Batman 2 imagines Gotham City reeling from the aftermath of the Riddler’s flood.

The writer and director presented a more gothic and noir version of the character and the city. The feature featured Batman trying to stop the Riddler (Paul Dano) of carrying out a sinister plot while also dealing with the elusive Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz🇧🇷

The film was a commercial success and it has been confirmed that Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson will return for a sequel. Although the details of the story of The Batman 2 remain unknown, a new artist poster Jaxson Derr imagine what the scenario of the sequel could be.

The artwork depicts the Dark Knight looking out over Gotham City in the dead of winter, as flames surround the hero and a large castle-like structure in the background, with a mysterious villain apparently responsible. Check out the stunning artwork below:

Although The Batman ends with the Riddler behind bars, part of the villain’s plan succeeds and Gotham is flooded after a bombing. It’s unclear how long after the first film the sequel will take place, but the arrival of winter and the freezing of the city could be an interesting scenario.

This would essentially put Gotham in a state of emergency, allowing new criminals, potentially including iconic nemesis Mr. Cold, take power over the city. The first film also hinted that a significant character could play a prominent role in the sequel.

Although he was introduced briefly, the Joker from Barry Keoghan is seen in more detail in a deleted scene shared after release, potentially hinting at a bigger role to come. Both the final cut and the deleted scene feature the villain trapped in Arkham.

That means Joker would have to slip away to be the central villain of The Batman 2🇧🇷 It’s also possible, of course, that the sequel introduces an entirely new villain like Hush, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, or the Court of Owls for the Dark Knight to take on.

Many questions remain as to how Reeves will follow Batman and further his unique vision for Gotham, but the first film’s ending certainly sets up some interesting events to come. One of the biggest questions is who the central villain will be, and it’s possible the sequel will feature multiple villains instead of just one.

While Derr’s poster may not be representative of what fans will get in the long-awaited sequel, it makes a strong case that the movie should be set in the dead of winter. But what about you, what are your thoughts on all this? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments below!
