O saints will start the pre-season only on December 14th, but is already moving to reinforce the squad aiming for 2023. Thus, the club announced, this Wednesday, the hiring of defender Messias, who was in the Ceará🇧🇷
At the age of 28, the defender played for the club from Ceará in the last two seasons. Now, he signs permanently with Peixe for three years, with a bond until the end of 2025.
Messias, who is 1.92 m tall, will play for Santos on December 14, alongside the other athletes from the club who will return from vacation.
In a humorous publication on social networks, Santos idol Giovanni, nicknamed “Messias”, joked with the name to publicize the reinforcement.
“Peixão, what is this story that there is another Messiah in Vila? Explain it there”, said the former player in a video posted by the club. Then came the announcement.

Last season, the defender entered the field 47 times for Ceará and scored once. In all, there were 95 performances for Vozão, with three goals and one assist.
Before Messias, Santos had already closed with Rodrigo Fernández and Vinícius Zanocelo on a permanent basis. However, both were already part of the Santos squad on loan and, thus, the defender is the first new addition to the squad for 2023.
