Harry Styles Addresses Hatred On Olivia Wilde, Sex Scenes In “My Policeman” And More

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde talk about haters in their relationship

One thing is for sure: Harry Styles’ life is no longer private. The singer explains that he does not talk about intimate matters in interviews, but that never stopped the public from giving their opinion about his alleged relationships and even accusing him of wanting pink money – for talking about the LGBTQIAP+ community, without making his sexual orientation explicit.

“I never talk about my personal life publicly and I think that has benefited me. There will always be a version of that narrative and I think I just decided not to waste time trying to fix it. […] Sometimes people say ‘you only date women publicly’ but I don’t think I’ve publicly dated anyone. If someone takes a picture of you with someone else, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or anything like that.”

In any case, the way people intrude on his love life has undermined some aspects of the artist’s routine, as he explains to Rolling Stone: “Can you imagine, going on a 2nd date with someone and being like ‘Oh, the people will say that and it’ll be crazy and they’ll be really mean, but nothing’s real… Anyway, what do you want for dinner?’ […] It’s really hard to know that if you’re close to me, you’re targeted somewhere on Twitter. I just wanted to sing. I wouldn’t want to get into it if I was going to hurt people like that.”

Olivia Wilde, Harry’s current girlfriend and director of “Don’t Worry, Darling”, a film that stars the artist, doesn’t see it that way. When questioned by the journalist about the cruelty of the fans, she says: “What I don’t understand about this cruelty that you talk about is the fact that this toxicity and negativity is the opposite of what Harry represents. I don’t think this energy of hatred represents their fandom in any way. Most of them are champions of kindness”, concluded the girlfriend.
