January 1, 2023 will mark more than the arrival of a New Year, but the beginning of a new chapter in Brazilian democracy. The inauguration of president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be a historic day and, for that, a suitable schedule is being prepared. Here, we gather the main information about the date, such as where and when the inauguration will take place, who are the artists who will sing and perform and more:
When and where will Lula take office?
The inauguration takes place on January 1, 2023, in Brasília, in the Federal District. On the same day, the official inauguration ceremony of the new president and the biggest popular party in our history, the Festival Brasil do Futuro – Alegria Vai Tomar Posse, take place.
The Festival of the Future takes place from 12h on January 1st at Esplanada dos Ministérios, in Brasília. Entry is free.
How will Lula’s inauguration be?
The official inauguration ceremony has a series of events, starting with the traditional parade in an open car in which the president-elect travels through the federal capital.
In Congress, he is received by the presidents of the Chamber and the Senate for the act that makes the presidential inauguration official. A speech and broadcast of the presidential sash then follow.
After that, the president-elect meets with international authorities and heads of state.

Invitations began to be sent on Monday (5), and some confirmations were already made until Wednesday (7):

Who will sing at Lula’s inauguration
Dozens of artists are already confirmed to sing at the inauguration of joy with Lula president in January 2023. The performances will take place on two stages named Gal Costa and Elza Soares, in honor of two great names in Brazilian music and culture that we lost in 2022 .
