Micron announces shipment of first NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSDs with 232-layer NAND memories

SSD will equip OEM models and will be available in capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of memory

THE Micron announced, this week, that it started to send the models of Micron 2550 NVMe SSD to the developers of OEM desktops and notebooks🇧🇷 OEM products are made for other companies who use them to assemble their devices and sell them later – an OEM processor is sold to a company like dell, for example, which includes it in one of its products and then sells it to the final consumer. The model promises to deliver users greater responsiveness, in addition to better power consumption to equip factory-assembled PCs.

The highlight of Micron 2550 NVMe SSD is, according to the manufacturer, that the storage device uses NAND in more than 200 layers. Altogether, they are 232 layersin addition to being based on the architecture PCIe Gen 4, very widespread in current hardware. The SSD is available in 22x80mm, 22x42mm and 22x30mm formats and in capacities of 256 GB🇧🇷 512 GB and 1 TB of memory🇧🇷

Micron 2550 NVMe SSD Performance

According to Micron’s own tests on PCMark 10 benchmarks, the Micron 2550 NVMe SSD it achieves “transfer files up to 112% faster, run office productivity applications up to 67% faster, load top games up to 57% faster, and run content creation applications up to 78% faster than comparable competitive products. It also delivers up to 5 gigabytes per second sequential read performance and up to 4 gigabytes per second sequential write performance, which is 43% and 33% faster than the previous generation SSD, respectively.🇧🇷says the company.

In terms of energy, the manufacturer says that, in standby mode, consumption is below 2.5 milliwatts and active energy consumption is 5.5 milliwatts. This performance is achieved through Micron’s input and output optimization in auto-initiated power-saving states.
