Maycon left the field in the first half of Corinthians’ duel against Guarani, this Tuesday (24), for the Paulista Championship. After starting to accompany attacker Bruno Michel, from Bugre, in a counterattack by the Campinas team, the Corinthian midfielder collapsed on the lawn feeling the posterior region of his left thigh.
Immediately when he fell, goalkeeper Cássio signaled to the bench asking for his teammate to be replaced. Roni stepped into place.
The tendency is for Maycon to undergo tests and be evaluated this Wednesday (25). The chances are great that the athlete will not be available for the derby against São Paulo, this Sunday (29).
Last year, the number 7 suffered a lot with the physical part. The athlete was out for a month and 13 days, between June and July, due to a problem in the adductor of the right leg.
Then, in early August, he suffered a fracture in the second toe of his left foot in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals, against Flamengo, in a clash with midfielder Thiago Maia, from Rubro-Negro. He only returned two months and six days later, already in the final stretch of the season.
On the last day of the 18th, Maycon had been in the starting line-up in Corinthians’ 3-0 victory over Água Santa, but was substituted at halftime, as he was physically preserved. In the following match, against Inter de Limeira, last Saturday (21), the athlete had been spared for load control.
