thieves will not be able to turn off the cell phone’s Wi-Fi

Motorola launched this Tuesday, the 24th, a new security solution tool for smartphones: Moto Secure. The solution – inspired by the ThinkShield platform, of Lenovo products – will be available for devices with Android 13. With it, new layers of protection at the hardware and software level will be created.

The change certainly increases users’ security.

To clarify this novelty, the Moto Secure will be found as a standalone application on the company’s mobile phones. Initially, it will already be included in the Moto G73 5G and Moto G53 5G models, in addition to the ThinkPhone.

Despite this, the application can be downloaded on any other device that already has Android updated.

Motorola also claims that the tool works as a central safety, in which the user can configure several functions. Therefore, it will be possible to create a secure folder and also block the shutdown of WiFi or 4G/5G networks, for example.

What are the functions of Moto Secure?

By preventing someone from turning off the mobile data or the cell phone’s WiFi connection, the tool makes it difficult for bandits to steal cell phones. “Previously, for example, a thief could simply turn off your mobile or Wi-Fi networks, preventing you from locating your lost device,” said the Motorola team.

The secure folder is a “hidden” folder in the middle of the applications with a password different from the one chosen for the system. In it, it will be possible to add important items, such as bank applications or e-mails.

The option also allows you to disguise the folder with application icons and customizable names, making it difficult to identify. In addition, a new way of unlocking also integrates the announced news.

With PIN unlocking, instead of displaying the numeric keypad, the software will scramble the layout, like something already being used in some banking apps. Finally, Moto Secure provides the Privacy Panel, where cell phone owners can check and manage application permissions.
