Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is a player everyone at Barça likes. The club has made several attempts but is now close to withdrawing.
Both the Blaugrana and the player have been pushing for a loan with a mandatory purchase option, but City are pushing their demand for a permanent transfer worth more than €70m.
At present, Barça cannot afford such expenses unless there is a major sell-off, which is not foreseen.
This weekend, Barcelona offered Bernard Silva a loan offer, and the Portuguese agreed to it, with his agent Jorge Mendez acting as an intermediary. The player spoke to Pep Guardiola, but City made it clear that they could not facilitate his departure unless there was an offer for a transfer with immediate payment. Man City will have to sign a better player if Bernardo Silva leaves and that’s why they don’t want to loan him out.
The deal is almost cancelled. Bernardo Silva has done his part, but he has a good relationship with City and will not go into any conflict with the club that elevated him to football’s elite.
Javi Hernandez is already informed about this situation and also understands that there is no time to waste, as the market is drying up and decisions need to be made.
