Spider-Man fans welcomed 2023 with open arms and this year brings the expected Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, follow-up to the Oscar-winning 2018 animated film. This new story adds more spider heroes and it is now confirmed that one of the variants will have the voice of a Deadpool star.
At the end of last year sony pictures released the official trailer for the film, which served to demonstrate the impressive number of Spider-Man variants that the story has, shortly after the official poster arrived, which gave a more accurate look at the Spideys that will have weight in the story, obviously beyond Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld).
One of the Spideys that could be seen up close was Paviitr Prabhakar, aka Spider-Man. The character was created by Sharad Devarajan, Suresh Seetharaman, and Jeevan J. Kang and featured in cartoons for a limited series in 2004. For Across the Spider-Versethis variant of the hero is featured with long wavy brown hair and a distinctive white spider emblazoned across his chest.
As reported by the One Take News site, the actor Karan Soni, who gave life to Dopinder the taxi driver friend of deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and who was part of the story in both installments, will be the one who puts his voice to Indian Spider-Man.
While major details of the film remain under wraps, Paviitr Prabhakar is said to play a major role in the story of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
As for the plot, the sequel to A New Universe will see Miles and Gwen go on an adventure through the Spider-Verse. There they will meet different Spideys and their stories. All these spider-people have come together to form the Spider-Force, a group that has the task of protecting the Spider-Verse from the arrival of a threat that endangers everything. The situation changes completely, since Miles and Gwen will discover something that will make the spider-colleagues turn against them.
Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse opens in theaters June 2 of this year. The story will end with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versescheduled for the March 29, 2024.
