And I’ll see you sooner rather than later I’m just…I’m going to take a break from everything.” It is not the first time that Selena disappears from the Internet to take care of her mental health.

The singer’s publication came shortly after her followers warned that Kylie Jenner’s latest stories could be referencing Gomez. The first image was a selfie with the text “is this an accident?” at the height of her eyebrows; and a second publication where an image of a video call between the youngest of the Kardashian clan and Hailey Bieber appeared: a very close-up of both eyebrows.

How can this be related to Selena? Hours before, the former Disney girl had published an image of her recounting her bad experience during her last eyebrow lamination treatment (a way of raising and smoothing the eyebrows by applying a chemical solution). All this happened the same day that Jenner lost the title of “the most followed on Instagram” against Selena.

The comments criticizing the reality star were not long in coming and she felt compelled to defend herself: “This is an exaggeration,” she wrote. “There was never any teasing of Selena, and I didn’t see the eyebrow posts from her! They are making something out of nothing. It’s nonsense.”

Also Selena – whose little sister is a close friend of the daughters of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian – wanted to settle the controversy: “I agree @kyliejenner. All this is unnecessary. I’m a Kylie fan!” However, fans did not let it go and unearthed an old video where Hailey Bieber made a disgusted face at the mention of Taylor Swift, Selena’s best friend. The actress commented on the video: “I’m so sorry, my best friend is her and she will continue to be one of the best in the game.”

Long before, the model and businesswoman Kendall Jenner had already been accused of contributing to the confrontation between the two. Apparently, just when some images of Selena enjoying her vacation in a swimsuit were going viral and her weight gain was pointed out, Kendall, Hailey and a third friend posted a video on TikTok where the following was heard: “I’m not saying that he deserves it but I believe that God’s timing is always perfect”.
