During the year, those who need to know if they have contracted any of these diseases should contact the Virology Department of the Central Hospital or the Luis Lagomaggiore Hospital.
On July 24, 26, 27, and 28, the municipality joined the provincial and national ministries of health for the prevention and awareness of viral hepatitis in accordance with National Law No. 27,675. The provisions provide for a comprehensive approach to these pathologies, in addition to HIV, tuberculosis and venereal diseases.
These days, a stand with medical workers was installed in the municipal public library of Almafuerte. Brochures were handed out, information and counseling provided, HIV tests done, risk factors examined, and hepatitis A and B vaccinations given to start and complete these immunization regimens.
It is worth noting that hepatitis C is a disease that is infected through the blood and all its derivatives and is detected using a test or blood test. The main difference from types A and B is that C does not have a preventive vaccine, but there is a treatment with excellent results if applied early. Thus, early detection and diagnosis are again two fundamental factors for health. To these are added the observance of the rules of personal hygiene, utensils and objects that carry blood, as well as sexual relations with the necessary and adequate protection.
For its part, it is also important to emphasize hepatitis B vaccination: those who suffer from it are 5% more likely to get hepatitis D, which is a much more complex disease and becomes chronic more quickly.
Those who need to know if they have contracted viral hepatitis should contact the Virology Department of the Central Hospital or the Luis Lagomaggiore Hospital.
