The films “Tár”, “Aftersun”, “The Spirits of the Island” and “Everything everywhere at the same time” top the list.

2022 was a great year for cinema, both for films with original content, and for sequels, adaptations, and new versions of stories already told. The list made by 165 critics included people from America, Europe, Africa and Asia, which gave a global vision to the selection. Some of the films on the list were initially released in 2021, but did not reach some countries until 2022 and for this reason they were considered by critics.

The list of films was made by the American medium IndieWire, which is specialized in film and television issues. The selection was made through a survey of each of the critics who chose the best films of 2022. and was published in December. Due to the awards season that takes place in this industry, the list has become relevant again.
