LOS ANGELES, July 12 (Reuters) – The HBO drama series Legacies, which tells the story of a relentless struggle for control of the family’s media empire, led the way in TV Emmy Award nominations with 27 nominations in its last season.
The two-time Best Drama Series winner will once again compete for the award alongside HBO’s The Last of Us, which has earned 24 nominations for top television awards. Other nominees in this category included House of the Dragon, Andor, Better Call Saul, Yellow Vests, The Crown, and White Lotus.
Ted Lasso, another two-time Emmy winner, will compete for best comedy with Abbott Elementary, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Bear, Barry, The Jury, Only Murders in the Building and “Wednesday”.
The nominations for the top television awards have been announced amid workplace tensions that could delay the Primetime Emmy Awards, which normally take place in September. Film and television writers have been on strike for two months now, and actors may join as early as Wednesday night.
