“I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life”
Star Wednesday Jenna Ortega denied the “ridiculous” rumor that he was dating Johnny Depp .
Rumors about the two actors began to circulate when celebrity gossip Deuxmoi claimed that Depp and Ortega were seen together, possibly working on a film. Beetlejuice 2 from Tim Burton .
As the rumors generated a lot of attention and discussion on social media, Ortega recently took to Instagram to debunk the false claim.
“This is so funny I can’t even laugh,” she wrote. “I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”
Depp’s rep also denied the relationship rumors, as well as the claim that he could play the role opposite Ortega in the film. beetlejuice 2.
A statement from Depp’s rep read: “Mr. Depp has no personal or professional relationship with Ms. Ortega. He never met her or spoke to her. He does not participate in any joint project with her and does not pretend to be. He is appalled by these malicious and unsubstantiated rumors that are meant to damage his reputation and career.”
In June, Ortega has been open about how to deal with ‘toxic’ and ‘manipulative’ trolls on social media .
Conversation with Elle Fanning for the series Variety actors on actors , Ortega was thrilled when she talked about the impact some social media trolls had on her.
“Social media, what they do to people our age, is a comparison game,” he began. “It affects the mindset of joining the bandwagon. He’s very manipulative.”
Ortega went on to explain that while he wants to broadcast his humor on social media, he is careful about posting because he doesn’t want people to misinterpret it. She also said that the more famous she became after Wednesday’s launch, the more she was in danger of trolling.
“They see your vulnerability and twist it in ways you don’t always expect,” she said before bursting into tears.
“This is so strange. Sorry, I didn’t mean to do this. It’s very difficult to balance. Because how can you be honest without endangering your own health and safety? It’s so easy to feel almost out of control.”
