Jeremy Renner continues his recovery from the accident that nearly cost him his life in early 2023. The actor shared in the networks the oxygen treatment he undergoes twice a day.
52-year-old actor He posted a selfie in his Instagram story. while receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy while continuing to recover from his snow plow accident on January 1 this year.
“Hyperbaric chamber, 2 atmospheres pressure, high oxygen, twice a day,” Hawkeye’s star captioned the photo.
Hyperbaric oxygen chambers can be used to treat various diseases.including crush injuries such as the one suffered by Renner.
The tissue of the human body needs oxygen to function, and the air we breathe contains 21% oxygen. According to the FDA, hyperbaric oxygen chambers create an environment where patients can breathe 100% oxygen. Once the patient is in the chamber, the air pressure in the device increases to about 2-3 times higher than normal, helping the lungs to collect more oxygen. Oxygen passes through the bloodstream and basically diffuses into the tissues, which can speed up the healing process.
In addition to injuries, hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be used to treat other conditions such as burns, severe anemia, carbon monoxide poisoning, radiation injuries, brain injuries, and more. It is also commonly used to treat scuba divers and deep sea divers affected by a rapid change in pressure.
Earlier this year, Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones and required multiple surgeries after being run over by a 7-ton snow plow. Jeremy has been keeping fans informed of his progressing recovery for months since he was hospitalized.
