LONDON (AP) – Harry Kane scored four warm-up goals for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday as interest from Bayern Munich persisted in signing the striker.
The English captain, who has one year left on his contract with Tottenham, is on Bayern’s radar when an all-or-nothing deal worth more than 100 million euros ($110 million) is offered.
Kane started the friendly at home against Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk and scored the first four goals in a 5-1 win over Tottenham.
“You see that Harry is committed to our project – said the Tottenham coach. – We will continue in the same spirit until something changes.”
Kane, 30, received a round of applause from Tottenham fans after he was substituted towards the end of a friendly match and they gave him a round of applause. He returned to the field to applaud the audience after the final whistle.
He could leave for free next year if he stays this season and doesn’t sign a new contract with the Spurs, his professional club since 2010.
“I don’t know what’s on Harry’s mind, much less anyone else,” Postecoglou said.
Tottenham and Bayern are in talks over Kane. Uli Hoeness, honorary president of the German champions, said last month that he was confident they could sign a striker this summer.
