A new season of Cineclub Almería is being held until March 31, the initiative organized by La Factoría and the Department of Culture and Education of the Almería City Council, which once again brings the best of independent cinema from around the world this winter term and in original version to the screen of the Teatro Apolo, in what is also being its twentieth anniversary. The month of March will start with two projections. On Thursday, the 2nd, with manticore (double screening at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), and on Monday, the 6th, with the film dreamers (single pass at 8 pm), corresponding to the cycle ‘Hypotenuse = a² + b²’, directed by the director from Almería Juan Francisco Viruega.
Mantícora’ is a Spanish film written and directed by Carlos Vermut and starring Nacho Sánchez, Zoe Stein, Catalina Sopelana, Javier Lago and Patrick Martino. The cast is completed with Ángela Boix, Álvaro Sanz Rodríguez, Vicenta N’Dongo, Joan Amargós and Albert Ausellé. He was nominated at the last Goya Awards for best direction, screenplay, actor and revelation actress, as well as winning the award for best actor (Nacho Sánchez) and best poster at the Feroz awards.
Twenty-something Julián is a successful video game designer who lives tormented by a dark secret. When Diana appears in his life, Julián will feel close to the opportunity to be happy.
For his part, dreamers is a 2003 film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci from a script by Gilbert Adair. It stars Michael Pitt, Louis Garrel and Eva Green, with Robin Renucci, Anna Chancellor, Florian Cadiou, Valentin Merlet, Jean-Pierre Léaud, Jean-Pierre Kalfon, Lola Peploe, Pierre Hancisse, Ingy Fillion completing the cast.
Paris, 1968. Isabelle (Eva Green) and her brother Theo (Louis Garrel), alone in the city while their parents are away, invite Matthew (Michael Pitt), a young American student, to their apartment, whom they have met in a cinema. Once at home, they establish some rules to get to know each other, exploring emotions and eroticism through a series of extremely risky games.
