New study looks at little-known cannabinoids for psoriasis, eczema and acne

A new study suggests that some of the lesser-known cannabinoids in hemp and marijuana may help with common skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne.

A study published in the journal Molecules aptly notes: “Dermatological diseases seriously affect the quality of life of people, and their effective treatment can be difficult. In this aspect, cannabinoids are becoming increasingly important due to their therapeutic potential in various diseases, including skin diseases.”

Researchers from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the Medical University of Lublin (Poland) analyzed the existing literature on the potential dermatological uses of a lesser known subgroup of cannabinoids, including CBDV, CBDP THCV, CBGA, CBC, CBM, and CBN, and concluded that they may help treat psoriasis. , eczema and acne, reports Marijuana Moment.

Their results show that minor cannabinoids have therapeutic potential in the treatment of dermatological conditions and many others. “The inclusion of minor cannabinoids in dermatological therapies has the potential to offer new treatment options for patients and improve their overall well-being.”

Other new cannabinoids such as CBM and CBE have shown anti-inflammatory potential, according to Polish researchers. “They represent a new alternative for disease-specific research. Similarly, CBC, with its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, may have beneficial effects in the treatment of acne, psoriasis, and AD.”

In the meantime, DVT “shows a lot of promise in fighting acne” as it can help regulate sebum production. It also “has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help ease inflammation and fight the bacteria responsible for developing acne.”

Dermatology Times, in a report this week, they agreed that cannabinoids have numerous characteristics that could be beneficial for a variety of skin conditions.

“They potentially have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipruritic properties. They can alter hair growth, regulate epidermal proliferation, and even reduce sebum production. In atopic dermatitis, acne, psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa, there is a potential role for them, at least theoretically,” said Peter A.
