(ANSA) – ROME, Aug 28 – Roma have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the loan of Romelu Lukaku in exchange for €6m plus a bonus, and also agreed with the Belgian striker for a salary of €7.5m per season.
Rome’s board of directors have reached an agreement with their Chelsea counterparts, and the Italian press has reported that Lukaku will arrive in Rome on Tuesday to join Jose Mourinho’s Giallorosso team for a season.
Lukaku’s signing will be important for Roma, who drew 2-2 against Salernitana and lost 2-1 against Hellas Verona in the first two games of the 2023/24 Serie A.
As if that wasn’t enough, Mourinho will endure the loss of Argentine striker Paulo Dybala in Friday’s September 1 clash against AC Milan in a third league date due to muscle discomfort he endured in the fall against Hellas Verona.
In turn, Frosinone has reached an agreement with Juventus to loan Argentine midfielder Matias Soule and Brazilian striker Caio Jorge, while Spanish defender Paul Lirola will move to Olympique Marseille.
Meanwhile, Brazilian defender Luis Felipe will continue his career in Saudi Arabia as Betis accepted a €20m offer from Al Nasr, where Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo plays. (ANSA).
