Taeyeon suddenly cancels the Tokyo concert two days before. Why?

Singer Taeyeon’s scheduled Tokyo concert has been canceled.

On the 17th, her agency, SM Entertainment, announced through their official Japanese homepage that Taeyeon’s solo debut 10th anniversary concert, ‘The TENSE’, scheduled to be held at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on the 19th and 20th, has been canceled.

The agency stated, “The equipment used for the Asia tour is currently being transported to Japan but has not yet arrived there, and it is very difficult to make sufficient preparations for the concert.”

In response, they said, “After repeated discussions with the relevant ministries and exploring all possibilities, we have concluded that it will be difficult to hold the performance.” They added, “We deeply apologize for causing inconvenience to those who have been waiting for the performance.” They also said, “We are also reviewing the possibility of an alternative performance. We will provide further information regarding future responses or detailed announcements as soon as they are decided.”

As the news spread, Taeyeon’s fans responded with bewilderment at the sudden cancellation notice. One netizen said, “I arrived in Japan early to go to Taeyeon’s concert, but it was canceled,” “Does this make sense?”, and “It’s a nuisance to Taeyeon and all of her fans to be notified of the cancellation when there are only two days left until the concert.”
