The Screen Actors Guild of the United States has announced the nominees for the awards that the union awards annually and whose 29th edition will be held on February 26. The Spanish-Cuban Ana de Armas opts for the award for best leading actress for her work in ‘Blonde’ in nominations led by “The spirits of the island” and “Everything everywhere at the same time”, two of the films awarded in recent Golden Globes.

The actresses Ashley Park (‘Emily in Paris’) and Haley Lu Richardson (‘The White Lotus’) have been in charge of announcing this year’s nominees for the Screen Actors Guild Awards that will be delivered at the luxurious Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles in a ceremony that will be broadcast live on Netflix’s Youtube channel. In addition, the platform has already announced that it will broadcast the Screen Actors Guild Awards gala on its streaming service in 2024.

Ana de Armas, nominated for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the controversial biopic ‘Blonde’, will compete for the best actress award with Viola Davis for ‘The King Woman’, Cate Blanchett for ‘TÁR’, Danielle Deadwyler for ‘Till, the crime that changed everything’ and Michelle Yeoh for ‘Everything everywhere at the same time’.

The most nominated films at this year’s SAG Awards are the aforementioned ‘The Spirits of the Island’ and ‘Everything Everywhere at the Same Time’, with five nominations each. In the series section, the Netflix fiction ‘Ozark’ starts as a favorite with four nominations.
