ANGELS, August 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — On Saturday, August 19, the entertainment community will meet Stand Up To Cancer® (Unidos Contra El Cáncer) at 8 p.m. special fundraiserto support urgently needed cancer research and new treatments. Debuting in a refreshing new format, the televised celebration titled “How It Started, How It’s Going” will recognize the impact and progress of Stand Up To Cancer over the past 15 years.
This year’s show will air on Saturday, August 19 at 8pm ET/PT/7pm CT. Over the course of an hour, the show will celebrate 15 years of groundbreaking cancer research and highlight special moments with stars of film, TV, sports and journalism who have supported the Stand Up To Cancer movement. Renowned scientists funded by Stand Up To Cancer will also be present at the fair to discuss advances in the fight against cancer and the critical need for continued funding for life-saving research. There will also be moving stories of people who have overcome cancer and received innovative treatment methods supported by Stand Up To Cancer.
Among the stars that will appear during the show are m.in Elizabeth Banks, Jessica Biel, Don Cheadle, Katie Kuric, Dan Gurira, Tony Hale, ken jeong, Maria Menunos, Julianne MooreTig Notara, Jimmy Smiths, Eric Stonestreet AND Justin Timberlake; there will be a special montage of comedic parodies of previous shows jack black, Ben Falcone, Zach Galifianakis, brad garrett, Bill Hader, Jon Hamm, Kevin Hart, helmets, Melissa McCarthy AND Matthew McConaughey. To kick off the TV show Stand Up To Cancer, the #Up2Us to #StandUpToCancer event will kick off on August 1. The month-long fundraising initiative, which will end on August 31, will feature exciting live streams showcasing everything from video games to other forms of entertainment and much more. The creators will be streaming the fundraiser live on Twitch, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, KICK and YouTube in support of Stand Up To Cancer’s mission to eradicate cancer as we know it.
