How I Met Your Mother began broadcasting in 2005 and, until one sad spring day in 2014, it kept us all glued to the TV to find out who was that mysterious woman under the yellow umbrella, who would end up becoming the mother of Ted’s children (and that, by the way, I already told you back in the day that it comes out in the fourth season of Black Mirror).
The season began, however, with Ted (Josh Radnor) telling his children how, long before he met their mother, he had been terribly in love with “Aunt Robin” and that they had even had a relationship that had started with a little mess with a blue trunk. And Aunt Robin, Robin Scherbatsky, was played by actress Cobie Smulders, who was 23 when the series began airing, 32 when it ended and who will be 41 this year.
Since the end of the series, his roles have not been few, but the ones he has had leading roles have been in low-flying productions, and those that have been in successful titles have been discreet, secondary roles that tend to be invisible, mostly.
The first one to bring is that of agent Maria Hill in the UCM, which began, to be honest, before the end of the series, since she played the agent for the first time in The Avengers, in 2012, and since then he has repeated in Age of Ultron, SHIELD, The Winter Soldier, Infinity War, Endgame… And even in the last of spider-man.
She also brought her Agent Hill character to LEGO Marvel productions, although for LEGO she also voiced Wonder Woman in The LEGO Movie.
In 2016 we saw her share the limelight, yes, with Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher: Never go backand honorable mention has her role (she was the mother) in the Netflix series A series of unfortunate events in which he participated in the eight episodes of its first season (out of three that it has) in 2017 and shared the screen, once again, with Neil Patrick Harris, Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, and with Will Arnett, who is the father in this series and the voice of Batman in the LEGO movies.
In recent years, he has made a cameo, again in his role as Robin, in the last episode of the first season of how i met your fatheran attempt by hulu to revive the success of the original series (which is not having too much success, everything is said) and has played the lawyer Ann Coulter in the third season of American Crime Story, Impeachmentthe season of this Ryan Murphy anthology that deals with the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal.
The latest from Smulders is his participation in the interesting series high schoolbased on the autobiographical book of the same name by Tegan and Sara Quin, twins and members of the Canadian indie pop music group Tegan & Sara.
