For two decades, the annual lingerie show of El Secreto de Victoria It was one of the most anticipated events of the year and now it will return to television.
The brand announced the return of its iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Friday, but fans should expect some changes to the runway show that has been on hiatus for the past four years.
In 2019, the company put the event on hold due to falling viewership ratings and criticism of its lack of racial and body diversity, but its new initiatives promise to update the presentation.
Among the changes we saw, the company dropped the “Angel” title, the name given to supermodels who represented the brand like Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen, and Adriana Lima.
A Victoria’s Secret spokesperson shared with PEOPLE that the company is committed to championing women and “innovating in all spheres of the business to continue to put our customer at the center of everything we do.”
“Our new brand mission will continue to guide us,” the statement read, referring to the new self-love and inclusiveness initiatives.
Although the parade that we will see this year will be different, we are sure that it will continue to be an unmissable event, from fashion to performances by artists like Rihanna, Taylor Swift or Katy Perry.
