In the Paris Olympics javelin throw final, Arshad Nadeem won gold.

Arshad Nadeem, a Pakistani javelin specialist, broke the previous Olympic record with a massive 92.97-meter throw to end the nation’s quest for a gold medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

On his second try, Arshad launched a 92.97-meter throw, which was sufficient to win the gold medal.

Furthermore, Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway, a competitor in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, lost the Olympic record with this throw.

This marks Pakistan’s maiden Olympic gold medal in athletics and its first gold in any sport in the previous forty years.

Pakistan won an Olympic gold thirty-two(32) years after the last one. Pakistan’s national hockey team last won a medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where they defeated the Netherlands 4-3 to take home the bronze.

Neeraj Chopra of India, who was defending his gold, won the silver medal with a throw of 89.45. With a throw of 88.54 meters, Grenada’s Anderson Peters took home the bronze medal.

Recall that six out of the seven athletes the nation sent were declared ineligible for their respective competitions.
